The content of this page is a mix of personal and professional material. It’s a presentation of stuff that interests me and of what I do for a living. Below you’ll find links to some more specialized web sites.
I’m a clinical psychologist. My clinic is situated in Stockholm, Sweden. Primarly I have a psychodynamic orientation.
I have been interested in mental health and spirituality, in general, and so-called “new age” or variants of alternative spiritualities, in particular. This webpage is about the latter, mostly.
Beginning Spring 2020 I started broadcasting some lectures thru Facebook Live on the subject of spirituality and psychology. Later on I moved to YouTube (where you’ll find previous episodes as well).
For the moment there is no activity. But I’m pretty sure I will continue later on. Why? Mostly because I think it’s great fun 🙂
As I said, I have an interest in subjects like psychology and spirituality. Here is a quick overview: Psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychodynamic psychology was put together by Sigmund Freud in the beginning of the 20th century. It has its roots in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychology. Later others have made great contributions: Donald Winnicott, Wilfred Bion, Melanie Klein among others. Humanistic psychology in part wanted to be an alternative. To identify and focus on man´s healthy psychology: Abraham Maslow, Stanislav Grof. Next step become Transpersonal psychology, later on Integral psychology, which even more focused on man’s potential etc. Religion has been around for ever. Terapeutiskt: Spiritual healing, Christian meditation. New age spirituality has been around since the end om the 60ies. Inspired in part by eastern religious practice and theology – yoga och meditation, reincarnation och karma, gurus och their deciples. And Theosophy: Madame Blavatsky. Inportant names: Jiddu Krishnamurti, who was raised by theosophists Annie Besant and Charles Webster Leadbeater, who believed he would become the new world teatcher. Krishnamurti left this movement when he was still a young man. This become a crisis for the Theosophical movement. Rudolf Steiner left and formed anthroposophy, well known for Walldorf schools, biodynamic farming, etc. A scandinavian writer and mystic worth mentioning: Martinus Thomsen, “Martinus”, who’s system of thought is known as Martinus Cosmology. In the field between psychology and spirituality: Pre/trans fallacy (Wilber), spiritual bypass/bypassing (John Welwood). Even what is known as therapeutic cultsd. Hit bör väl också räknas div andliga gurus/inspiratörer/läror/system som fokuserar på personlig/andlig utveckling: Byron Katie, Deepak Chopra, The Secret, A Course in Miracles. There is an anti cult movement as well.
